Happy Happy Joy Joy

Considering the fact that I am still trying (unsuccessfully~ I might add) to erase the image of the roach poop filled Crocs that were on my feet a mere 24 hours ago, I felt the need to post some happy, colorful, child-like images.

'Princess dancing with dog.'

I dance with my dogs....
whether they want me to or not. :)

'Princess and dog singing'

I don't sing.
My dogs don't sing.
It's better that way.
Believe me.

'Princess at the water'

I'm all about the water,
but those fish look kinda creepy to me.

...and of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't have an illustration
that is at the very least~slightly disturbing.

All together now: "EWWWWWWWWWWWW"

It was bad enough that I spent the afternoon cleaning out the storage building in our backyard, but to add insult to injury~the most digusting thing E-VER happened.

The petrified frog I found near a giant Rubbermaid storage bin?

The dead rat behind the hope chest?

Nah.....not them.

It was the shower of roach poop that rained down on my feet and went through the holes of my Crocs ...which in turn meant that I had a Croc full of roach shit on each foot.

And just let me say that the storage building has been the domain of Sweet Man all these years..... good thing he's buying me a new house or he'd really owe me big time for this!

Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it had to happen sometime.

My life has gotten in the way of my blogging.

Shocking! I know!

I never thought it would happen to me.....well, not since I quit working full-time anyway.

But it has.

We've sold the Casa and bought a new one.

Who knew there was sooooooooooooooo much shit involved with buying one house and selling another?!?

Then there's been all the shopping for the new house and the Halloween party we're hosting at the new Casa.

....and the packing.....or the deciding what to pack and what to get rid of. No actual packing has taken place because I refuse to live among boxes any longer than I have to.

So I'm gonna start packing this weekend.

In the meantime....friends have been coming over to buy various furnishings that I've used
here at the Casa that won't be used in the new Casa....of course I had to haggle with them on prices.

Vultures!

Last Friday I went to the county jail and tested two inmates. This week I've collected DNA on 61 people over three days (including going back to the jail again~where the inmate refused to be tested), met with the mortgage company chick twice, fielded waaayyyy too many calls from my real estate agent and worked at the salon this afternoon (and will again tomorrow).

Oh.

and we're moving in to the new Casa next week. Next Saturday~ to be exact.

So I apologize for not posting anything that required much effort on my part as well as not getting around to visit everyone's blogs.

I close with the following, which I found here.

Tales of DNA testing: What's in a name? Edition

A man came in today for DNA testing.

He provided me with his driver's license for identification purposes.

He was very ordinary looking.

His first and last names were also very ordinary....let's say..... John Smith.....

but his middle name......now that was interesting.

It was Schezwan.

Like the province in China.

Maybe his mom ate Chinese before she went in to labor.

We'll never know.....

I knew it was just a matter of time.....

A woman came to DHR today for genetic testing
to determine the paternity of her child's father.

She didn't bring the child.

Well it is almost Halloween.....

The oddest thing just happened.

I went to make sure the front door was locked and I found my blue and white porcelin umbrella stand cracked in two....still standing there....holding an umbrella.

No one ever uses that door or goes near that umbrella stand.

Weird.

At least now I won't have to decide what to do with it when I move.
