Update on Beetle's bug....

Good news on the Beetle's bug: it's only going to cost $69.00 to repair!

And that includes an oil change!

Yea!!!! Our mechanic is a genius! We may have to name our first grandchild after him!

Ok. Maybe not. But our next dog!
That's it!
Our next dog will be named "Dack".

(I'm sure our mechanic will be pleased.)

My Beetle has a bug....

The Pissymobile is in the shop. :(

The Pm refused to come out of 'park' last night. I sat in a grocery store parking lot for 45 minutes trying to get it to shift to 'reverse', 'neutral', 'drive' or 'hover'. I didn't give a shit which one....just pick one and move!

But noooooo............

Finally, I got through to VW "Roadside Assistance".

This is what the "technician" told me to do:

this is an audio post - click to play

We took it to our mechanic this morning....where it sat all day.

According to our mechanic, "a part has been ordered".

Hmmmmm......that usually translates to: "you're about to pay big bucks to have your car repaired".

This is what happens when you don't take your "crazy" pills

(This photo comes to Hell compliments of my friend, Mandy)

I'll think I'll just keep taking my Zoloft, thankyouverymuch!

************************************************************************************
Hotlipz reminded me via e-mail that it has been a long time since I did a
"Tastefully Tacky T-shirt Tuesday "post.

This is a photo of the Halloween t-shirt that I bought at Wal-Mart yesterday.

Isn't it just precious?!?!?
I. Love. It.

It shall be part of the Halloween ensemble which I will be wearing at the
Halloween par-tay that we are having at the new Casa de Pissy.

It's going to be fabulous! I have found the most "cutastic" (Thanks, Orhan!) decorative stuff!

Just trust me when I say that I'm going to live up to my reputation (amongst my friends, anyway) as the "Mexican Martha Stewart"!

Topic of the day.....

Funerals

The mother of my friend, Mercedes, passed away Friday night. Mrs. M was 85 years old and had been sick for the past few months......so while sad, not surprising. Luckily, Mercedes was able to make peace with her mother before she passed. She was with her when she died.

My question to y'all is this: do you go to funerals with your spouse or significant other?

Sweet Man and I had an argument tonight because I always attend funerals and visitations alone or with friends. He never goes with me. He always knows the family of the deceased, but he still doesn't go. This bothers me and we argue about it, but he still never goes.

Mercedes is one of my closest friends and I will be there for her.

I went to the visitation today with Weeza and Crystal.

I'll be going to the funeral tomorrow.

Alone.

Don't call the ASPCA just yet

Jeez! You put a hat on a dog and everybody's a critic!

Do they look abused?
Ok.....Buster doesn't look too happy,
but that's only because MoMo was on his side of the bed.

Notice that MoMo didn't even wake up.That's how traumatized he was!

~also~
Please take note of bed purchased especially for MoMo.
I bought it because I liked the material and I have decided
that blue/gray and black are MoMo's signature colors.
(and it matches the couch in my den really well
....y'all know shit like that
matters to me)

and in other news.....

Tah-Dah!
My new hair style!

Well....what do we think?

Likey? or no likey?

The Halloween Hat: a story in pictures

How will I explain this to that bitch up the street?

Run, MoMo! Save yourself!!!!

Really? Must I?

Shit!
Apparently I must.

Sleep with one eye open, Mother.....

Haircut?

Working at a salon...even two afternoons a week....I see all kinds of cute haircuts.

So of course I want one too.

I think.....

Ya'll help me decide:

chin length like Thanksgiving '05 ?

~or~

long and layered (but in need of at least a trim) today....?

Be honest!

p.s. I hadn't realized how much my hair had grown in 10 months....Sweet Man likes it better chin length. He says I look younger with it shorter.....Hair Guy says to let it grow....Help!

Celebrity pups~Kiki and Coco: their story in illustrations

Coco, Hotlipz and Big Daddy at the cafe'

Kiki, Hotlipz and Big Daddy: fun in the sun

Does Coco like her new room?

Kiki thinks Coco's room is nicer...as sibling rivalry rears it's ugly head...

Kiki has a "chat" with Hotlipz about the unfairness of it all....

Coco says "Bite me!" and decides to go shopping on her own...

I saw these over at Loftparty.com adverstising their
line of 'French Bull' products.

They are just the
cutest things!

....and if anyone has a suggestion for another word I can use besides "cute" to describe
things,
I'd apprecite it.
I'm getting tired of saying everything is "cute"...but I'm at a loss for another
way to describe things that I think are.....well.....cute.

That little puppy reminded me of Kiki and Coco...
owners of
Hotlipz.

Oh, and if anyone should feel so inclined....
I love all the stuff at Loftparty.com.

New T.V. season.....new choices.....

I woke up at 5:30 this morning and wrote this fabulous blog entry all about the new T.V. season.

Problem is....the "entry" was all written in my head, as my lazy ass didn't want to get out of bed at 5:30 a.m. to type it up.

I should have.

I've forgotten all the "brilliant" ideas I had for the post..... I hate when that happens!

So y'all are going to be subjected to a very condensced version of the ideas I had earlier.....here goes....

I started my evening of t.v. viewing with the new show~ "The Class" cute....but nothing special. My prediction: it won't last....

Next up: "How I Met Your Mother".....watched this some last season. I like it. Cute ensemble cast. Good chemistry. Give it a try if you don't have a show you watch at this time on Monday nights.

Followed by: "Two and a Half Men"....also watched this last season. How can you not like a show that has "Duckie" from 'Pretty in Pink' as one of the key players? And I know Charlie Sheen is a slut in his "real" life, but he's funny in this. Watch it. You'll see.

Then, one of my favorites from last season: " The New Adventures of Old Christine"....now I gotta say....I wasn't a big fan of Julia Louis-Dreyfus...I was tired of her from the 'Sienfeld' days....but as is evidenced by her Emmy win for this show....she's great! The show is smart and laugh-out-loud-funny.
And ladies~ this season ....for your viewing pleasure~ Blair Underwood has joined the cast for a limited time. (sorry....Blogger is being a bitch and won't let me post a picture of Blair)

And then the big show of the evening......

I was fully prepared to be disappointed in this show.

I was not. I loved it. Loved everything about it......the cast, the look of the show, the dialog, the plot..... I'll be watching it again.

Because I'm so late with this post and because I'm too lazy to write a review myself, I provide you with this link to a review.

So there you have it.....my Monday night t.v. favorites....for now, anyway.

Thanks to GaBelle~ the quest is over!

Some of you may have noticed some comments on various posts referring to dishes.

(Or not.

Either way....that's what this post is about....so if you're not interested in my newest "score"...quit reading now.)

Specifically, dishes that I was searching for.....

Even more specifically~dishes I was searching for that I'd found for $2.99 per dinner plate at TJMaxx.

Yes! $2.99!For this plate!
I know!

Sadly, I was only able to find 6 dinner plates when I wanted at least 8...12 would be even better.
I've been to TJMaxx three times in the past week...(every time a shipment had come in). I was going to have to go to Montgomery and then to Auburn to look for more if I couldn't find them locally. Or if Hotlipz or GaBelle couldn't find them where they live....

The reason I'd been to TJMaxx to search for more was because I'd discovered that they cost $20.00 per dinner plate on-line!!!!

Hmmmmm.....$2.99 or $20.00......Duh!

I love beautiful things, but I want them at a bargain price if I can get it...who doesn't?

(loving close-up of detail on dinner plate)

Hotlipz had made a valient effort and looked for them for me in Hotlipz land.....no luck (but thanks for trying :) ).

Then today.....success!

Gabelle phoned me from the TJ Maxx in Buckhead.

She'd found 6 dinner plates, 6 salad bowls and 6 coffee mugs....all for $2.99 each!!!!

Thank you, Jesus!

And Gabelle!

*sigh* So glad I trained her at an early age to hunt down a bargain....

P.S. I am now the proud owner of 12 dinner plates, 12 salad/cereal bowls, 5 pasta bowls, 3 snack bowls, 12 mugs, and 6 saucers.
I can stop looking now.
But if I happen to find some more.....

Pissy does another party

This is how I spent my Friday evening.....

Me and Weeza....mother of the birthday girl

Nothing says "11 year old girl" like a polka dot birthday cake

Our ingenious centerpieces....

Raft of gifts....

"Pizza Pizza"...and lots of it....

Stopping long enough to eat....

What pool party is complete without the birthday girl
doing an underwater handstand?

I would imagine this will be our last pool-birthday party for the season.

It's fun planning and decorating and hostessing....but now I'm tired.

I'm not used to being around twenty 5th graders on a sugar high....

Salon Stories....short version

*First client of the afternoon: upon entering the salon, launched into the tale of the tummy tuck, boob lift and liposuction that she'd had since her last salon visit a month ago.....

Next thing I know, she's unzipping her skirt and releasing the velcro on the compression belt she's wearing to show us how good her stomach looks. M'kay.....apparently she likes to share....then she lowers the skirt to show us how small her scar is.... let me just say that her panties were the same lovely shade of turquiose as her blouse.

*13 year old male triplets came in for haircuts. Very cute, very well mannered. Very glad they're not mine.

*Last client of the day comes in, goes straight to the fridge in the kitchen to put her "gluten-free" bread in the freezer, helps herself to a bottle of water from the fridge....then tells me that since she's already "made herself at home" ~ that she's going to lay down on the couch.

She did.

Throw pillow behind her head, magazine to read and all.

I think I'm gonna like this job! ;-)

Two things......

First, I bought this fabulous dress today at TJ Maxx....

No. I didn't really need it, but it only cost.....

$5.00!!!!
and look at the original retail price

It fits me, but if it looks better on GaBelle or Little Pissy,
I'll let one of them have it.
If not, I'll wear it to a wedding I'm g
oing to on September 30th.

Second thing.....

I start working as a receptionist at my hair guy's salon tomorrow afternoon.
Just a couple of afternoons a week....
I know, I know....
it's not much of a job, but it'll be fun!

And think of the blog material I'll get from hanging out up there ;-)
(and free haircuts, color.....)
I can't wait!

p.s. there are no Asian manicurists working there, I just like this illustration.

Dogbert wisdom.....

Below is a little 'Dogbert' wisdom sent to me by Little Pissy....

That part about working?

Yeah.

That's what I did when I was still at the DA's office.

Tony Pratt...we shall not forget you....

Let me apologize first. This should have been posted this morning. However, I've been without internet all day due to our cable company, Adelphia, switching over to Time-Warner. I was told this morning that the delay would only be two hours. Now "they " say they don't know how long it will be before we have our high-speed internet back.

So.....I apologize for this being posted so late. and to CP who actually wrote this lovely tribute and is just borrowing my blog for the space to post it.

Tony Pratt was a 43 year old food handler for Forte Food Services in New York City, the same city that he lived in for much of his life.
On September 11th, Tony was killed in the World Trade Center. Tony must have lead a very private life, for there is very little information available on him. However, in his legacy guestbook...an online tribute to those who fell that day, there are two very touching and moving entries. The first one is from a former teacher of his, Janet Bianchini:
"I had the pleasure of meeting Tony when I was his teacher. Needless to say he was my star pupil. He and his family are always in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace knowing that you touched and inspired my life and many others."
The second entry is from a woman whose name is Asmareli, otherwise known as Mrs. Pratt, Tony's wife. Apparently, Tony was very well loved in his lifetime...having known the affection of this woman and having been a father to two small children. Her entry conveys a deep sense of loss.
"Dear Tony,
we all miss you so much. The Holidays were especially hard this year, we are still trying to figure out how you made your "secret stuffing". All the kids in the neighborhood still talk about you and miss you too. The kids and I will forever cherish our 7 years together. You will always be my Husband, and I Love You.
Asmareli and the 2 Kids"
While there may not be much about Tony Pratt online, there is much to know about him in his real life. He touched the lives of many. His short time with his wife and children was well spent.
Rest in peace, Tony Pratt and may God keep you in His comfort and care always. You will continue to be a loving father and husband from the most beautiful view of all.
You did not die in vain. We shall not forget you.

No show

The casa was shown three times today.

Due to how exhausted I am from all this "keeping-the-house-perfect" thing that I've developed, I've decided that I'm not going to answer the phone tomorrow.
That way, the casa cannot be shown.

Who wants to go to the pool?

My dogs have fleas!!!!!

We took Andy to the vet today because he's scratched, bit and gnawed himself bloody two nights in a row. We had just put Frontline on all three boys on Monday.

Apparently Alabama fleas drink Frontline for breakfast.

Andy was infested. I won't go into the gory details.

Suffice it to say that it's sorta like when kids come home from school with head lice.

My instructions?

Bathe all three dogs with Dawn dishwashing liquid today and then again in 5 days.

Andy was also given 3 different medications to take and he's being shaved bald tomorrow morning.

Moose is being groomed (shaved down too) on Monday morning..... groomer couldn't fit them both in tomorrow....

Here is Moose before his 'Dawn ' bath....

during his bath.....

a close-up....
doesn't he look pitiful?

p.s. I have washed all their bedding in hot water and cleaned the entire house.

Now I'm going to take a Dawn bath myself because I itch from just seeing all those fleas on Andy.

P.S.S. I don't call 'Moose' "Moose" anymore. I call him 'Little Mo- Mo'. I think it suits him better. (Sweet Man even calls him Mo-Mo. Ha! and he said he never would!)

Casa de Pissy for sale: 'The Casa is Shown' Edition

The casa was shown today to a boy Little Pissy dated when she was
a junior in high school.

When they did start giving mortgages to children?

P.S. ..... this illustration is what I look like in my dreams... 'Cher's' twin....apparently....

Pissy does her civic duty....

"Fashion Police?"

"Pissy here."

"I want to report a 40 W F 40 O."

"That's right."

"40- year- old -white- female -40- pounds- overweight- wearing- overalls."

"Short overalls."

"Yes. You heard me correctly. Short. Overalls."

"Seen entering Ryan's All-You-Can-Eat Buffet."

"No, I didn't attempt a "Citizen's Arrest"."

"The Chief told me I couldn't do that anymore."

"Right. That unfortunate "incident" at the Pizza Hut buffet."

"Ummmm hmmmm.....that was me."

"No....really. I'm ok. I used my pepper spray on the perp."

"O.k....... so you'll make the arrest?"

"Oh, please. No need for thanks. I consider it a public service."

Just wanted y'all to know....

....that I might be tempted....

If Lucifer decides to send "Lorne" as his personal
emmissary....

I loved Lorne on 'Angel'
I mean~C'mon! What's not to love?!?!?
He's a fabulous singer-slash-entertainer-slash-club owner....
has an excellent sense of humor....
....and he's a snappy dresser
(you know how I am about fashion)

.....he looks good "out of character" too.

We could so hang out.

If Lorne calls me, y'all will be the first to know!
