Y'all probably already knew this....

but I have lost my mind.

When I finished doing my 3.5 miles on the treadmill this morning, I asked the little Nazi instructor to show me how to use some equipment to work on my thighs.

As I was working, she was telling me about this 6 week boot camp she's going to start teaching in mid-September.

It sounded great.

I'm sure the endorphins from my workout had something to do with it....but I signed up.

I KNOW!

I'm going to pay extra to be personally punished by her....and in a group with 5 other women!

I'm doing it because I think it'll be fun, I like this instructor, the cost is minimal and she's getting new boobs in late August so hopefully she'll be too sore to punish us too terribly much.

Oh, and we get a t-shirt AND are going to have a "graduation ceremony".

Y'all know how I am about t-shirts.

p.s. I also want arms that look like this.

Mother-of-the-bride dress?

Before I went to NYC, I went shopping (of course) and tried on some dresses to get an idea of what I want to wear to Little Pissy's wedding.

The first two pictures were taken in the dressing room of the Macy's at Lennox...I have no make-up on nor the right shoes for either dress.

Tell me what you think.

Be brutally honest.

I can take it.

I promise that if I wore this, the strap wouldn't be showing
and that electronic tag would be removed.
I like the ruffled skirt.

I ADORED this dress,
but is it too casual?

Maybe I should just play it safe with something like this.

Opinions, please!

Humph!

I was going to post my pictures of Central Park, The Met and the theater today, but blogger won't let me upload anymore pictures.

Maybe I've worn it out?

*sigh*

I'll try again next week.

Update:

I spoke to one of the attorney's at the firm yesterday.

It would be the end of August before they'd need me.

Which works out well for me, because I have too much to do in August already.

I won't know anything for sure until I speak to the attorney who owns the firm.....and ya know...even though it's a really beautiful place and they had just finished having cake and coffee in the gorgeous kitchen with the granite counter tops~do I really want to work for a criminal defense attorney? One of the best ones around? One of the busiest?

I'm used to being on the side of the "good guys". Not helping to get some drug dealer a lighter sentence......or some deadbeat a better deal at paying less child support.....or a murderer sentenced to a "better" facility.

Oh well.....I'm not going to stress about it. No firm offer has even been presented at this point.....and I have engagement party center pieces to work on, a body sculpting class to go to this morning, a caterer to meet with about the menu for the engagement party....AND my DNA collection job to do next week.

I need a vacation.

Bwhahahahaha!!!!!

.....and in other news

I have officially lost 20 pounds!

Woot!

I'm down two pants sizes.....which is a big deal to me because I'm so pear-shaped.

So I'm especially pumped about that.

Also~ I've been offered a job at one of the biggest law firms in town.

I hadn't applied .....they knew me from my DA days and asked if I'd be interested.

I'm going to talk to them....see what they offer.

If it's decent, I'll consider it.

Mostly because I love the beautifully restored , lavishly furnished, two story antebellum house that is their office.

Can't y'all see me working at a place like that?

New York Pictures: trip day 3

This was the day that we went to Chinatown in the morning, had the "fire" at the hotel early afternoon and then went to Times Square.

So eventful day=lots of pictures.

I tried to select the ones that I thought you'd find most entertaining.

something for everyone

I just thought this was cool

AWESOME t-shirts

This is what happens when you let your brother chose your sunglasses.
I look like a giant insect!

...but at least the food was good

HOT HOT HOT fireman!

fireman who was nice enough to take a picture with me

My brother and the giant fireman.
I love how the fireman has his elbow balanced on my brother's head!

self-explanatory

break dancers in the subway station.
they were really good!

I look like crap, but that's okay....I was in NYC!

My son-in-law (the professional photographer) told me this
was a good picture.

for Nonny...

had to take this one...
wish I could have seen Jersey Boys AND Wicked too!

I thought the reflection of the building was cool.

New York Pictures: Trip day 2

I've been dealing with the freakin' travel agency all afternoon.

They keep referring to the NYC Vacation Package "people" who the agency booked our trip through.....and all the things that "they" require to refund my money for the airplane ticket I had to buy because they fu*ked up.

Needless to say, I am not pleased with the agency or the NYC Vacation Package "people". So far I've only dealt with Kena at the agency. I've gotten her from "it'll take weeks to get your money" to " NYC Vacation (etc) will refund the money to your brother's credit card ASAP". Kena says that is b/c the original form of payment was my brother's credit card. I reminded her that my brother wasn't standing at the ticket counter in Hartsfield at 6:00 a.m. using HIS debit card to buy another ticket. The fact that my brother would give the money back to me instantly is beside the point. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get my money back. This was their mistake. So.......If I don't get the answer I want from Kena tomorrow, I'm speaking to the manager of the agency.

I sincerely hope the manager gives me the answer I want.

They don't want me to come to the agency in Texas to take care of this in person.

That would not be good.

Anyway.....

here are pictures from the day we went to the Statue of Liberty and the Yankees game.

It was raining that morning....so a trip to the
DSW located in the hotel was essential

I had to buy this hat.
Aside from the hat being super cute, my hair
looked like crap because of the rain.
So the hat was a necessity.

On the ferry headed to the Statue of Liberty

The pedestrian path on West Ave.

At the game....

Hot pretzels.....YUM!

It was "hat night" at the game.....

'Chuck's' I bought at DSW and wore to the game

Long train ride back to the hotel.
This was the day of the pipe explosion....so the trip took
way longer than usual.
~and~
yes
I bought two hats at DSW.
