Creepiness at the dog park

This afternoon I took my grandpup Sadie to the dog park next door to my daughter's house.

The day was overcast .... misty and drizzly....

I took some pictures with my BlackBerry.

Sadie wouldn't cooperate. Her dad is a professional photographer, so she's used to cameras being pointed at her, but not phones.

My Saturday

First of all: let me just say that I DESPISE my Blackberry sometimes! ARGH!!!!

Ok...now that THAT'S out of my system.....

Here is a list of the things I did, things I considered doing but didn't and a picture ('cuz I know y'all LIVE for my pictures!)

let's just go ahead and start with the picture to get the ball rolling, so to speak:

and in bed too!

I had Golden Pecan bread (organic, all natural), toasted
with strawberry preserves from France (also all natural)

and a glass of organic milk.

(Yes, the eating habits of the family I work for are rubbing off on me.)

AND I'm fortunate enough to live close to a fantastic Farmer's Market,
so fresh, affordable food is easy to purchase. :)

I have to admit that during my "Vampire Diaries" marathon today
I was thrilled to see the main character, Elena, has the same sheets
from this line of bedding.

Yes, I'm a 16 year old girl that way.

Don't act surprised.

OK...back to the list.

Things I did:

*Went to Publix specifically to purchase Mighty Leaf Chamomile-Citrus tea. Also a newly acquired taste compliments of my employer.

* Needed to purchase a bigger skillet with a lid as the tiny one I have that I bought at Ikea didn't work out so well the last time I made spaghetti. Found a good sized one with a glass lid at Family Dollar for $10 bucks.

*there was a reason it was $10 bucks. I didn't know they even made skillets that thin. Made the spaghetti anyway. I sauteed fresh mushrooms, zucchini, onion and garlic in olive oil before browning the chopped sirloin and then adding the jar of sauce. Good stuff! and I have enough left over to freeze some.

* used my tiny gas stove for the third time since I moved here 6 months ago. Not gonna lie: gas stoves scare me so I'd been using the microwave all this time. I decided to bite the bullet a couple of weeks ago and turn the damn thing on. It didn't blow me or the apartment up, so I'm cool with it now.

* listened to the parents at the school fund raiser next door (selling pumpkins) yell at all the passing traffic. Dummies! Have the KIDS do the yelling. They were out there until 6 p.m. Those were some hard-core pumpkin sellers!

*watched 4 episodes of "Vampire Diaries" and one episode of "Glee" .

*wondered what I did before DVRs

*read both People magazine and InTouch cover to cover. I like to stay informed. Knowing when Kim Kardashian is going to get her next Brazilian is important to me.



Things I considered, but didn't do:

*SERIOUSLY considered going to the very cool and atmospheric cemetary right around the corner from me to explore and to take pictures. Perfect day for it: cool, windy, overcast. Decided to wait until next Saturday: Halloween. I'll probably chicken out. Bad mojo and all that. We'll see.

* didn't yell out my windows at those silly pumpkin-selling parents to shut the hell up. MAN, did I want to!!!!

*didn't watch any of the sitcoms I have on my dvr. Considered watching "Modern Family" because I have a crush on the big gay dad on the show. He is too funny for words with his little Korean adopted baby. "Little pot sticker" HA! Do any of y'all watch this show? It's hilarious!!!

* didn't go to TJ Maxx or Ross for a skillet. Mistake!

*didn't read any of the book I'm currently slogging through. I want to slap the crap out of the main character. She is too annoying for words.

Alright....that's about it.

Hope y'all Saturday was as action packed as mine!!!!

So You Think You Can DANCE!

Y'all......this show was everything we could have hoped for and more.

We had GREAT seats, the show was high-energy, entertaining and flawlessly performed. The costumes, the set, the lighting, the effects....everything was so well done. It was definitely worth the hassle of the traffic getting there (it's true what they say about Atlanta traffic. only multiply it by 100. Seriously.) AND getting evicted from the men's room! Silly men. Supposedly one of them complained that they were "uncomfortable" about 10 or 15 women waiting in line for the stall in their bathroom rather than standing in the line of 300 women waiting for the ladies room. *roll eyes* Personally I think the security guards just wanted something to do.

I'm so sorry that I don't have more pictures! :( Little Pissy has some on her camera, but hasn't been able to upload them so I don't have those yet. I've found that my Blackberry doesn't take very good pictures indoors. Boo!

Anyway....here is a picture of the t-shirt I wanted, but was not willing to pay $35.00 for.....yeah, the pink one on the left.

Loved it! Too expensive, though....

Me and my oldest daughter in our seats.

The picture above was taken by some friends of ours from Enterprise who just happened to be sitting 2 rows behind us!!! We didn't even know they would be there until the day of the show....and then to discover we were sitting so close to each other. It was SO awesome to see them. Lower Alabama peeps always manage to find each other! ;-)


I'm having trouble with youtube tonight. Don't know why..... but there should be a video someone posted of one of our favorite couples: Janette and Brandon. Every dance routine was amazing. This is just a short clip (if it's there) of one of my favorites. Enjoy!

Tomorrow night I'm going to see the
touring show of SYTYCD!!!!

My girls and I are HUGE fans and are thrilled to have tickets.

I'm going to try to take lots of pictures, if it's permitted.

P.S. I'm going to be one tired nanny come 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Thank you SO much for the helpful, informative comments regarding "flu shot or no flu shot".

After reading all the comments and considering my age, current work situation, the fact that I live in a BIG city now as opposed to a small town, I've decided to get both the flu shot and the H1N1 shot.

I thought this little cartoon was cute......

Nanny Diaries: Guess who got the baby's cold?

I felt the cold coming on Sunday......and then more Monday afternoon and evening.

I managed to soldier on and care for the baby on Tuesday.

But by the time I left there on Tuesday at 5 p.m., it had hit full force. I went straight to Publix and bought kleenex, orange juice, Vicks fizzy cold medicine and throat lozenges.

Oh!

and a 20 oz. Coke.

(I'm not gonna lie.)


Arrived back at Little Pissy's house and was in the bed all drugged up by 6:30. I felt absolutely horrible....

Wednesday morning I woke up, got ready and was at the house at 7a.m. prepared to care for the baby that day too. (Although I'd already decided there would be no 45 minutes walks that day.) I let myself in with my key and could hear the dad upstairs getting the older child ready for school.

The dad and I spoke for a few minutes as I took the baby from her crib. I told him that I had caught the cold from the baby (he had as well) and wasn't feeling great. The dad immediately said I should take the day off if I didn't feel well. He could work from home. I felt bad about the situation, but at the same time I felt like my head was going to explode.

I took the baby, fed her, etc. while the older child ate his breakfast. The dad took the child to school, came back to the house and I left. Came back to Little Pissy's, took more medicine and got in bed. Where I stayed. Until 8:30 last night. Was up for an hour and a half and then back to bed.

Today I feel MUCH better. Taking that one day off and staying in bed, medicated was exactly what I needed.

I have to say that the family I work for could not have been more kind, considerate and generous about the situation. I really appreciated that.

Now here are some pictures that I took on Monday mid-day packing for the week and getting laundry together.
