Just wanted to update and put down in writing....the latest development.
He cleaned out the bank account.
Yes.
He did.
The move that his attorney told him I would do...the one that prompted him to blindside me with the filing for divorce the way he did. His attorney told him I would "clean out the accounts....you need to protect yourself from that happening"
So he did it to me.
I have to tell y'all that I would have been less surprised if I'd been struck by lightening.
This latest move of his now shows me that he is capable of anything.
I found out about this after a visit to OB with Devon. ( We may had a baby this weekend!)
Dev and I had gone to Ikea for a little outing. We were in the picture frame department when he finally answered the phone (he'd been on the golf course all day and turned his phone off so I wouldn't bother him). I wanted access to the password for the online bank account. That's when he told me what he'd done. And if I want any money for anything...let him know...he'll put money back into that account for my use.
After being hit with that thunderbolt, I broke down and cried right there amongst the picture frames and in front of my poor daughter. It was not pretty and I'm not proud of it.
A lot of horrible, nasty things were said back and forth between us.
I hate this and I want it to stop.

My husband Refuses to even speak to me I called him when I got the Divorce papers. He hung up on me... We were married for 22 yrs I don't understand how things get to this point. When did we become someone they could no longer trust?
ReplyDeleteAnn: I'm SOOOOOOOO sorry that your husband is being such a jerk. Sounds like he's only thinking of himself and doesn't want to have to face your or hear about your issues (that he KNOWS he's responsible for).
ReplyDeleteI don't know that it's so much about them not trusting us, as it is about them going on the defensive because they know they're being assholes.
Just sayin'
hang in there, Ann.
We're gonna get through this!!!
{{{hugs}}}
hang in there girl and DO NOT LET him take advantage.. you have rights and you have a right to fight for what is yours. You will get through this girl.. i am praying for you!
ReplyDeleteDivorce is never AMICABLE at the end of the day.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get everything you are entitled to... before he finds a way to keep it from you.
His emptying your bank accounts is a dire start.
all the best, I'm thinking of you.
When I left my first husband I took everything and left him with:
ReplyDelete1 knife
1 fork
1 spoon
1 plate
1 pot
a bed
blankets
1 TV
HIS stereo
HIS car
HIS DEBTS... you get the picture!
I left with the 4 kids and everything else....we never saw him again.... 25 years later and counting.
Oh, Pissy!!! :( I am just heartbroken for you. I cannot believe he just did all of this after agreeing to be civil about this if and when the time came. I am so sorry. is there anything you need? I know this is all quite a shock. I am so sorry he did this right before your precious granbaby is about to be born. DON'T let him steal the joy in that. I'm praying for you.
ReplyDeleteWas this guy always a dirt bag? How did it get so bad?
ReplyDeleteHoly fuckme!.....I blame the lawyer..he's the one that told him to cover his ass from you..he doesn't even know you so how could he know what you'd do..he just wants to make sure you get paid..
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to say..but I have to admit when you first said this was a separation I thought to my self...she should get something in writing..I'm always suspicious ..sigh*..so sorry...hope to see you soon.
Francine: Thanks so much for your words of support and your prayers. I will most definitely fight. He knows that about me. Which is another reason his actions surprised me so much. He knows how I am and what I'm capable of doing.
ReplyDeleteChris: Apparently you're right about the possibility of a divorce being amicable. But honestly? It could have been. I wouldn't have fought it, we could have worked something out. Now there's this....
MC: Thank you, Sweetie....I really appreciate your kind words. I cannot believe that he has taken these actions. I'm sure he's being coached....b/c this is not the man I've been married to for 19 years....
CABE: No. Really...he was and is (now only to others I suppose) one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. Seriously.
I have no idea how it came to this other than he's being coached by someone and also by his lawyer.
Jacquesue: Yes, the lawyer is certainly partially at fault. But I blame Mike. HE knows me. HE's married to me...HE'S been with me for 20 years....
I know...there isn't much you can say. I didn't get anything in writing before I left, but I DID consult with a lawyer at that time. This bank account thing was a stupid move on Mike's part and will only look bad to the court. Besides....everyone knows I'll get half of everything anyway.
Hope to see you soon too!
Hey you... I hope you are doing somewhat better... yeah, in the long run, you have a much stronger position!
ReplyDeleteJust hang in there and take care of yourself...
*huggles*
~shoes~
Not much to say that hasn't already been said. I'm thinking of you and knowing you'll get through this.
ReplyDeleteI have been right where you are....there is nothing that will make you feel better right now, except taking care of yourself....treat yourself well....time with girlfriends especially helped me, because I could say anything and they loved me anyway....I am so very sorry, but on the other side of this, you may find that you are even stronger. I know the sadness.....I remember it well. Deep, sick, and all pervasive....you will heal. Find a good lawyer, and let them do what they do. And a hint from above...buy some red shoes...smiles
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. I am so sorry that you have to go through this! Divorce is never easy and feeling betrayed is so very difficult to deal with.
ReplyDeleteLean on your friends, your family, and your faith and you WILL make it through.
I often read your blog but don't really comment. However, I just want to say that I'm thinking of you. :-) And if you get access to that blasted money, you are welcome to come and have a holiday here in New Zealand!
