The countdown begins!

Y'all, I am beyond excited!

On June 6th we'll be seeing two of my all time favorite bands: Earth Wind and Fire and Chicago~in concert in Atlanta!!!!!! We missed them the last time they toured in our part of the country, but not this time!

Because I'm feeling nostalgic, here are a couple of old videos....both from the 70's. The very first concert I went to was Chicago Transit Authority (as they were called back then) when they preformed in San Antonio. I was 14 years old. My mother had died about 6 weeks before the concert and one of my brothers took me as a special treat.

The Chicago video was (according to youtube) part of a t.v. special that aired on August 16, 1974.

I was 17 years old and a newlywed. I had just gotten married on August 9th, 1974.

Now here I am....52 ...and I love them just as much as I did back then.

whitenoise: yes, they really were. It amazes me that some of the original members are still with the band and have been all these years. :)

  9. Ooooooooo, I'm so jealous. I love both of those bands.

I'm with Cap'n Noise about Terry Kath. What a talented guy.

I love Maurice White too but I don't know if I've ever heard his voice without the double-tracking thing they do in the studio. I'll have to click the video above to see if it's live, live. :)
