Pissy does another party

This is how I spent my Friday evening.....

Me and Weeza....mother of the birthday girl

Nothing says "11 year old girl" like a polka dot birthday cake

Our ingenious centerpieces....

Raft of gifts....

"Pizza Pizza"...and lots of it....

Stopping long enough to eat....

What pool party is complete without the birthday girl
doing an underwater handstand?

I would imagine this will be our last pool-birthday party for the season.

It's fun planning and decorating and hostessing....but now I'm tired.

I'm not used to being around twenty 5th graders on a sugar high....

    That's in impressive underwater handstand.

  6. The party looks like fun! Can you believe that summer is over? Where on Earth did the time fly?

  7. And another thing, are you wearing your new $5 dress in that picture?

  8. that looks like it was a great party

i wish we still had weather that allowed pool parties

    i'm jealous

i love the ambience for the party that you showed - it looks like you put a big bunch of thought into everything

that's the kind of thoughtfulness that goes such a long way

  9. You are definitely the hostess with the mostess!

No one else is even close!

  11. bid: Thanks for stopping by~and I do hope you'll come back again! :)

jackie sue: kid's parties are so fun. and since my own kids are grown I have to settle for helping my friends with their parties. :)

orhan: I hadn't thought about that!

dutchie: Come visit me in Hell. I'll have a poolpartyforyourparty!

hotlipz: That's one of her many nicknames. Not her real name.

as for the handstand....birthday girl is on a competition gymnastics team~so it oughta be good. But I thank you on behalf of her mother for noticing. :)

p.s. Of course that's not my $5 dress! That dress is much too formal for a pool party.
That is the top of my pima-cotton-super-comfy-but fashionable casual outfit from Chico's from about 3 years ago. I still love it.

reg: the kids had a blast! and I cannot believe that summer is over....especially since it's still pretty hot here in Hell.... :(

cad: I guess living in the frozen North you would be jealous of our weather. But I'm jealous that you have seasons. We don't. :(

I love to plan and host parties. Especially when someone else is paying for everything! ;-)

mr fab: oh yeah! That's me: hostess with the mostest of the elementary school party crowd! :)

jess: that was some tasty cake, too!

rat: it should also have said: "and only $5.00!" ;-)

  12. Hey, wait a minute, that rainbow-polka-dotted birthday cake was just like my last birthday cake ... when I turned 36 years old.

Wait a minute ... the dress and the Hot 'n' Ready pizza were both $5.00??

Re. the handstand, I thought that was HotLipz...

Also, is HotLipz really sending you one of her two puppies?

    ReplyDelete
  13. P.S. That is a very nice picture of you and your friend. (Why won't HotLipz post a picture of herself??)

    ReplyDelete
  14. arcturus: Seriously? You had a cake like that? Well, I knew you had good taste!

Yeah, the pizzas were $5.00. That's at Little Ceaser's. Do y'all have those in D.C.? The pizza isn't all that great~but for five bucks~it's not bad. Kids don't care anyway!

I don't know if Hotlipz is sending me a puppy or not. I think she's just toying with me. I'd take it if she really needed a home for the pup. But I already have three. Can you say "vet bills"!

As for the pic of me and Weeza...thanks! She doesn't usually like picutes of herself, but she was ok with that one.

Hotlipz doesn't post pixs of herself b/c she has a very important job and has to maintain the respect of the community.

    I know.

    Hard to believe, huh? ;-)

p.s. if you go waaaayyyyy back in her archives, there's a picture of her. Unless she remembered it and deleted it.

  15. But that's just it ... she deleted the entire blog and I'm guessin' it was more than just a mouse click mistake. I vaguely remember seeing a picture that I thought was her.

Yes, we have Little Caesar pizza places here, though not that many of 'em.

As a dog lover at heart, I knew you wouldn't let Li'l Kiki end up in a bad way ...

  16. Arcturus: Well....she did and she didn't (delete it).

It's still out there. She's waiting for Stacey to design a new one for her.

Yeah, that was her. Making a kissy face? or the one in the shower cap? either way....both her. ;-)

  17. I love it when people talk about you like you aren't even there.

    ReplyDelete
  18. hotlipz: Oh, c'mon! You love it when your hotties discuss you! You ARE our favorite topic, after all.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Are you wearing that awesome dress you just bought? Inquiring minds wanna know... :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love the cake, so cute!! This year (even though it was my 18th) I insisted on having a Dalek cake! It rocked!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hippo: Awwww.... ;-)

shpprgrl: nah, that dress is strech lace...too fancy for a pool party. I had on pants and a top. ;-)

rat: They used to have that! ;-)

samantha: What's a "Dalek" cake? ...and it doesn't matter how old you are....if it's your birthday~you get whatever kind of cake you want.

that's a birthday rule at Casa de Pissy! ;-)

  22. I so would have ROCKED that party with my underwater handstand, jacknife AND the pencil (straight in....like a pencil...absolutely no splash).

    Invite a bitch next time!!!

I'd have been on the first flight out!

    ReplyDelete
  23. So.. WHY aren't you party-planning instead of "saloning", again?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. laurie: I don't doubt that for a minute! You are officially invited to every party I hostess from now on.

Next one is Halloween night at the new Casa de Pissy.

    Book your flight now! ;-)

nowhere girl: Sadly, party planning just doesn't pay in Hell. All the local gals (read: born here) have that sewed up! And I wouldn't charge my friends, anyway.

But they usually give me a gift certificate for a mani-pedi or some other token of their appreciation.

Which isn't necessary or expected~but still enjoyed! ;-)

  25. Looks like fun. My sister's birthday was the 15th.

  26. what a nice party! Its so fun to have parties for girls b/c they are so girlie...my daughter always wanted to have sleepovers with about 20 girls for her birthday....they about drove me nuts...I always wanted to just take a xanax and go to bed but I was afraid they would sneak out or ruin my house! lol. I guess I miss those days since she has grown up .....one of these days I am going to have a sleepover for my friends and me....we will eat, drink, gossip, and laugh!

  27. She got a weekend getaway with her boyfriend. Whether or not any pools were involved, I haven't heard yet.
