I do that same stretch....

But....

My ass hurts.

My quads hurt.

And I've only lost 9 pounds.

What's there to smile about?

  1. There's plenty to smile about if I'm standing behind you as you strecth! I loved watching the women stretch in tae kwon do class. Hubba hubba!

  3. walk, walk, walk, walk, walk!!! The weather's nice there, right? And walking BURNS those calories. It's great that you're working out; the more muscle, the more fat ya burn.

    You GO BP!

  4. lady k: I DO! Everyday! That's why my glutes and quads are so sore...the hills!

I stretch before and after I walk.

I want to start strength training soon.

It's really difficult to loose weight at my age, but I know it can be done.

  6. 9 pounds is really good! I've lost some weight, but its taken me like 3 months, and right now I'm eating tasteless shitty cereal and I'm not smiling about it at all.

  7. Pissy, 9 pounds is awesome! That is probably a whole size in clothing to you. Very cool!

  8. That woman is smiling because she finally figured out a way to do that stretch and not let her gargantuan head topple her over.

    9 pounds IS 9 pounds...you'll get there.

  11. True story: once I was doing a similar stretch with my class, with my ass facing the window. I looked back between my legs, and one of my "friends" was looking in and waving hello.

  12. I've been walking, too. A half hour each evening. Today I decided that I should weigh myself to see if it's done any good. I gained 2 pounds.

    Shit.

Glad your walking is working better than mine.

  13. I'll trade the 2 pounds I've gained for the 9 pounds you've lost!!! You are doing great! Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. Back over the scale with your car. If your quads and such are sore, you have more than likely gained MUSCLE girly.

  14. My ass hurts too but that's cause I lost too much weight and there is nothing cushioning my tail bone. Stress is an excellent diet!

  15. I read somewhere that strecthing before running doesn't actually help any. I've tried it myself, and I usually find that if I don't stretch, my run is better. No idea why or if this is even a good idea.

  17. I had lost 42 pounds but the past month hasn't been kind. I gained about 12 of it back before I realized I better start getting serious again.

Funny how it's so much easier to put those pounds back on. :)

But I agree with everyone else. Nine pounds is great!

  19. Well at least you havent gained 9 pounds! Thats something to smile about! It takes so much energy to burn calories but it sure doesnt take much for them to pile up . Dieting is such a head game..I just cant deal with it right now...lol

  20. 9 lbs!!!? You're on fire, girl. I haven't lost any in over a week, but I'm blaming it on my new stupid digital scale that doesn't work right. It certainly isn't because of my frappaccino addiction.

  21. Hey, guys!

I'm really not bitching as much about only losing 9 pounds as I am that Sweet Man looses weight so much easier than I do!

    Sucks!

    Oh! Big news!

Blogger has me locked out of my own goddamn blog! Some shit about it possibly being a "spam blog"!

I don't know how long it'll be before they unlock it. :(

You will have to let me know the next time you're in town... I bet we can get into some real mischief!
(ha - it was difficult to type that with a straight face - I'm the most boring girl I know! But I would love to hang with you - you do way much more fun stuff when you're in-town than I ever do!)

  28. 9 pounds is awesome! Teach me oh wise one! I need to lose about 5-10 for my wedding and I hate my arms!

  29. 9 lbs is good

how long did it take you to gain it?

you've got about that long to lose it, hey?

you know you'll only gain it back unless it is accompanied by real lifestyle changes - so losing slower is better, because it is part of a larger pattern of lifestyle and health changes
