Some new pictures of my "nest"

It's been almost exactly 60 days since I moved to my little studio here in Decatur.

I've finally gotten curtains up and have given up trying to hang anything on the walls that can't be hung using 3M products. We ( oldest daughter) were only able to hang curtain rods by hanging the rod on the actual wooden frame of the windows. *sigh* Not what we would have done normally, but you have to work with what you've got, right?

So.....

here we are at Ikea with our flats of furniture on May 28th

to current view you see when you enter front door

How about that lovely old school hotel a.c. unit?!?!
Can't cover it up and constrict the air flow.
It runs constantly.
Trust.

View into bedroom from front door.
(the fan isn't always there.)

other side of main room
(that's my purse on the chair)

closet/dressing room/hallway to bathroom
(I was so excited to find that little porcelain egg crate to hold earrings
at Anthropologie and then I dropped the bag
and broke the edge before I got it home.
Obviously using it anyway.)

Teensy kitchen

There you have it!

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

  1. I did enjoy it! I want to come and visit and sit with you and adore your homey space. Still didn't get the drill with the tiny drill bit to start the pilot holes so you can hang your stuff, huh? Come on GURL, go to the hardware store and get an inexpensive cordless drill! I love my drill!!!

  7. Pissy,
To your comment on my blog? No, it sounded right, real, and true. It was wonderful and brave, just as I feel you are.

And, to your point about it being delayed? We can only feel something that profound when it touches the humanity and relevance of being alive. When it does? The gates of love and feeling and longing sweep open and we feel all that love brings to us.

    You are wonderful. Truly.

  8. Holly: Yay! I'm glad you did! I'd love it if you were here sitting with me, basking in the coziness of my little place...looking out the big windows as the sun sets or during a thunderstorm. :) Once we got the curtains hung, I decided not to hang anything else. I don't want to overwhelm the space and make it seem cluttered. Know what I mean? :)

midnightbunny: Thank you so much! and thanks for visiting! :)

Ken: "Small" doesn't begin to describe it! ;-) Thanks for visiting! :)
