ReplyDeleteThe Meredith/George thing was painful to watch last night. The whole bumbling idiot thing gets old. And Meredith is totally yuck. She's too god damn skinny. It is not only completely unnatural looking, but it is also completely unattractive. I hate her voice. And again, her character is so one dimensional. I don't understand how they keep wanting us to buy into George and Derek being in love with her. I really think that is poor writing, because I just don't buy it. How can they be so in love with her when she has no personality. Have I mentioned that she's too skinny? HMMMM let's see, what else? Oh yeah, I hate her.

and it was painful to watch.
it was a bad episode, all around, except for the heart transplant patient and the blonde intern - what's-her-name.
and poision oak on the vajayjay? what was the point of that? oh, i know - some sort of universal justice system. but really folks.
i LOVE this show.
but this was just bad writing and a wicked bad turn of plot-line.
i think i might mcvomit.

hot lips: You hit the nail on the head with this one!It really was painful, wasn't it?
As for meredith~she isn't attractive at all by my standards. I've read in several gossip mags, that she's 5'7" and weighs 100 lbs!!! That's just gross! And don't even get me started on her hair~yuck!
Seems like they could have cast that part better.
cole: the poison oak thing!!!! that was just ridculous!
Of course, the fact that the writers have two SURGEONS living in a travel trailer is also beyond belief.... but I try not to dwell on that.
I think that the last few episodes have just been so exceptional that we were let down by what was really just an average episode last night.
I agree that last night's epidode was a let down. The whole bed scene made me very uncomfortable and sorry, but she looked so skinny and old and in such pain that it was like a corpse having sex - EW. George looked so young next to her. I like her voice, and her hair can look pretty, but mostly she just annoys me because she even looks gross skinny in JEANS and I don't like Derick for not making a choice. He's stringing them both along.

I hate Meredith. She annoys me. Not only does SHE annoy me, but the woman who PLAYS her annoys me. To be honest, I was really hoping she was going to blow up on the Superbowl episode. I was rooting for the rocket to launch and take her out.

ReplyDeleteshe is a total whiny 'poor pitiful me' type. i couldn't BELIEVE the 'sex' scene! it was uncomfortable--she was almost acting like George was raping her or something "You're almost done, right?" EWWWW!!!! Poor George!
I hope he calls that dark-haired doctor/nurse whatever she does (the one that fixed his dislocated shoulder)! he needs to move on!!!

ReplyDeleteI have to agree that was a painful episode to watch and I did think George was out of hand til I saw what happened.

OK- all of y'all are going to hate me for this response but..... I agree that it was a shitty episode all around with the exception of Izzy and the heart guy - but even the 180 on Alex was going too far for little miss perky pants... and I agree that George was totally over the top the entire episode regardless of what happened. And that the whole thing start to finish was painfull to watch.. And I totally agree that what Meredeth did was complete bullshit and bitchslap worthy - and that she needs a freaking milkshake at every meal for the next 2 years.. but... (here comes the part you won't like)
ReplyDeleteThe whole point of that episode - if your a dork like me and read the writers blog on the abc site- was that right now she's lost, she's scared,she's sad and she's alone. Trust me when I say that having your entire world blow up (no pun intended) can lead you to do some pretty dumb ass things. Like drink too much tequilla, like not be able to get over the love of your life.. like sleeping with the wrong guy to attempt the above(not that I would have ever pulled anything as bad as the george incident but still). She essentially had lost her mom again - first to alzhiemers then again when she found out her mom cheated (with her mentor and boss no less) and found out she never really knew her at all.. then lost her dad again because after not seeing him for 20 years all he could do was stand there and be a wuss ass.
The point is - and I think a lot of us do this - when there are so many things that are eating away at our core, we end up doing something stupid and painful so that we can blame the pain on something else and not have to deal with the things we can't change. Take it from someone who is has lost both parents, the love of my life, my career ambitions and my youngest sons future (the latter 2 to an incurable birth defect)in the span of a few years. Had I not read that blog entry before I saw the show I would have been right there with you but after reading it... it just hit too close to home. NOT that I'm whining about any of the above but I'm just saying I do get why they did it. I'm just pissed because for the first time ever since the show started have no desire to watch next weeks episode. (Just because I get why they did it doesn't mean I consider it entertainment- fuckers) sorry to ramble Big Pissy... love you.

ReplyDeleteI only read it once in a blue moon by the way- and yes, I know this still makes me a dork - but it is litterally one of 2 shows on tv I watch- that and myth busters - that's it. So I get a little slack.
t: I don't know about anybody else, but that explanation of your's really made sense. I don't like what she did any better~but at least it makes sense in the context of what she did.

of course it would be painful to watch if you have ever been in that 'place' of desperation and aloneness (is that a word? if not, i get credit for making it up.)
