National Doughnut Day~let the countdown begin!

Yes!

You read it right!

June 2nd is National Doughnut Day!!!

and it gets better!

Krispy Kreme will celebrate by giving away a free doughnut of your choice.

As a public service, I'm giving you this early heads-up.

This is to enable you to plan your routes accordingly in order to hit all the Krispy Kremes in your area before the day is over.

I don't know about y'all, but I'm thinking this should be an official holiday.

  2. We don't have a Krispy Kreme.

    :-(

    How un-freaking-fair is that?

  3. This should be an offical holiday no doubt about it.

  4. You mean it's not an official holiday?

  5. de: of course! In Dothan!

kb: that is beyond unfair! :(

lori: Let's start lobbying now for next year!

  6. Holy crap. I don't eat doughnuts, but you can bet your sweet ass that I'll hit the Krispy Kremes for freebies and pass 'em on to those I adore!

If I lived in Hell, I'd give them all to YOU!

  7. hot lips: No. But is should be.

buddha girl: Thanks! I'd eat 'em all too! I especially like the chocolate frosted ones. ;-)

  8. And then the following day is National Lipitor/Crestor Day.

  9. phoenix: Maybe Lipitor/Crestor are in with Krispy Kreme. It's a win-win for both of 'em!

  10. I think I'll celebrate this day by NOT eating a single donut...cuz if I get one of their free ones I won't be able to resist eating 4 more. Those KK's just melt in your mouth...Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

I do love that sugar high that kicks in about 15 seconds into the first one and drops you hard about 30 seconds into your 3rd.

  11. I have surprise for you over at my blog. ;)

  12. monk: You're so tough! I'd have to use the excuse of taking your sons to get a doughnut...and then having one too! ;-)

lori: That was so great~ LOVED it!

and that he DID look smug! ;-)

  13. I remember that last year. There were lines everywhere. I think I'll just hit Sonic while everybody is busy at KK...no lines!

  15. Hey, I've been to the one in Dothan! It's right next to the Holiday Inn Express that I stay at when I'm there.

I had no idea about National Doughnut Day. This is why I come here, for this valuable type of information!

  16. It should be a holiday! But what would we call it?

  17. You know, I don't like doughnuts. It's just that I grew up on the same street as a doughnut shop so I kinda have had my fill of doughnuts. I really don't like Krispy Kream doughnuts-waaaaaay to sweet and doughy. But it's really hard to pass up anything that free :)

  18. Oh god, hot Krispy Cremes are better than sex...

  19. pud: Heh ! :)

nonny: I can understand why you wouldn't like doughnuts.....I probably wouldn't either if I were you ;-)

but I do love Krispy Kreme~ hot and fresh! yummmmmm!

Nowheregirl: we won't tell Nowhere Guy you said that! ;-)

  20. There are Krispy Kremes around here, but none in my direct path which is just as well because I really don't need to be eating do-nuts. I can barely fit into my fat clothes right now. Dang-it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. june: me too!

    Where's your blog?!?!?

kc: I know what you mean....my fat clothes are a little snug these days....but National Doughnut Day only comes once a year!!!! ;-)

  22. shpprgrl: I didn't hear about it last year! I'd have to drive 40 minutes to the Krispy Kreme....but we do have a Sonic right here in Hell! ;-)

monologoduenabesuga: Whew! That's hard to type!

I'd be right there with you for a day that celebrates chocolate! right now I guess we'd have to go with Valentine's Day or Easter! ;-)

    Thanks for stopping by!

Mr. Fab: Yep! That KK is the only one in Dothan.

So you were SO close to Hell, but yet so far.....

and you know I'm just here to provide a public service! ;-)

  23. omigod. that is SO wrong.

there is nothing... NOTHING... like a fresh, warm krispy kreme...

  24. Those of you that don't have a Krappy Kreme near you consider yourselves lucky, I have one on south Lindbergh, and all the crack monkeys flock to it everyday at 6 am. Good luck driving down the road as the traffic is backed up a good half mile or so every morning. Those of you that love Krappy Kreme, need to wake up and realize you are eating sub standard doughnuts, when South County cops won't eat them, you know they are bad. Doughnuts should not have an after taste. For those of you that live locally in south city, try Carondelet Bakery (314) 638-3519. 7726 Virginia Ave., in So.Co. try, Donut Stop (314) 631-3333 1101 Lemay Ferry Rd.

Superior Doughnuts, for Superior citizens with taste buds.

  25. terry: I agree! Nothing like a fresh warm Krispy Kreme~love 'em! :)

    Thanks for stopping by!

webpirate: Don't be so hard on us Krispy Kreme doughnut lovers!

I don't doubt that there are better doughnuts out there. But here in Hell, we take what we can get.

Krispy Kreme beats the crap out of a Wal-Mart doughnut....which is our other alternative.

Thanks for the info. Now if I'm ever in St. Louis, I'll know where to go to get a good doughnut. ;-)

  26. Wal-mart makes doughnuts? I thought those were mini tires for bicycles.
