This post is boring....

like that's ever stopped me before, right?

Anyway.....

I think I can safely say that I'm burned out with the "exercising-for-two-hours-a-day" routine I've tried to follow for the past year.

Now?

One hour a day is about it for me.

I worked out for 2 hours on Saturday and it just wasn't fun like it used to be.

So now....

Sunday: weights= 1 hour

Monday: nothing ( I KNOW! )

Tuesday: yoga= 1 hour

Wednesday: weights = 1 hour

tomorrow: power yoga = 1 hour

before I would have also done at least 45 minutes of cardio too.

I know y'all don't give a crap.

I think I just needed to see it in print.

Maybe this exercise funk will pass soon.

If not....I'll probably have to go back to nothing but cardio....otherwise....I'll gain weight again.

Le sigh......

  1. I don't know if they have anything like what Shady Lane goes to where you're at..but she joined a African Drum Dance Class and has literly danced her ass off, and her thighs and arms, and the little wiggle under her chin is gone too..

  2. jackiesue: I've heard of that...and know it's a great work-out, but sadly...we don't have that here in Hell. :(

Good for Shady Lane...that's awesome! :)

  5. Well, at least you're physically doing something. I think about doing it and that's as far as I get. My son runs around and I'm so exhausted right now that I can't get the energy to do more than watch him. I have a Dr.'s appt in a few weeks to figure out what's wrong. I think I just need to get more sleep and to stop reading blogs at 11:18pm like I am doing now:)

  6. i worked out for two hours this past monday. it was a blast...but i do light workouts so 2 hrs is equal to some people's half an hour. you must have a rocking bod if you work out this much.

  7. your will to exercise in waning

you had some specific goals and intent in mind when you began it. you were feeling unattractive and that you had let yourself slide. some of the other issues around and stresses provided motivation.

you have achieved your hotness goal, but it has not changed some of the other issues.

so your motivation is not as much there. i think that focusing on your longer term context will be the best way to regain your go-gettingness, as the short term is less motivating

  8. An hour a day of exercise is about an hour more than I get, so don't feel too bad.

But seriously, two hours a day sounds like a lot. Maybe you're overtraining, and that's why you're getting burned out on it.

  9. You get big snaps from me for working out, period. I could learn a thing or two from you!

  10. I hear ya, I feel like I am in the same place and need to snap out of it, as my second chin is threatening a return engagement.

  12. I am sorry to hear about your arm (and I do empathize - I've got baby biceps (if that! they might actually be non-existent!))...

Anyway - you can't quit now - I live vicariously through you! And I think that one day I might even emulate you. (just not today. and if it's not too much trouble could you pass the deviled eggs??)

  13. I say do what feels right. If you truly burn your ass out, you'll end up doing nothing and end up packing on the pounds double-time.

I think your new schedule sounds GREAT, and I also know that you've made a great committment to yourself and your health. That's some damn greatness, Pissy!

  15. Totally ok to take a day off from the gym and cut back to an hour. You'll get back to it. I think it's important to keep the cardio up.

Some days I totally skip weights and do nothing but cardio and crunches and I feel ok about it.

  16. Your posts about exercising were one of the things that actually got me motivated to start last October. All was going well until March 27 (oh yes, I remember the exact date!) when I felt a twinge in my back after walking on the treadmill. That twinge turned into an excruciatingly painful case of sacroiliac joint dysfunction. I'm just now able to get thru complete days without pain. I want to get back to exercising. I really do! But I'm so scared that the joint pain will return and I just can't go thru that pain again!

  17. Don't you hate those troll bitches who chug frappacinos all day, don't EVER work out, and STILL stay skinny?!

  20. You have to change it up once in a while or you stop progressing, your body just gets used to doing the same thing over and over. Also, it's easy to over-do exercise. Your body needs time to recover or you just walk around with that "blah" feeling.

  21. Boring? You? You're never boring. You just need a break. :)

  22. Le Sigh. Le Mew. Howzabout kickin' me in the ass and helping me get in the mood to at least walk the treadmill. I can only HOPE to be as beautiful as you, one day! As for now, no shit, I want you to know that when I showed your pic to my kids, they said (and I kid you not!), "there's no way that chick's 50!" See....it pays off! Oh, and your bone structure and great skin don't hurt things, either. Eternally envious!

  24. We all hit our plateau every now and again. At least you are still exercising. If you had completely given up on exercising, I would have had to make a visit to hell to see you and give you motivation!
