I have decided that this "getting older" shit just keeps getting better and better.....
Recently learned "fun fact" (from personal experience~of course): as women get older their eyebrows tend to get skimpier.
But as an added bonus, the eyebrow hairs that are still there will get wiry, longer and less manageable.
So every morning I get to "fill-in" the sparse areas and "tame" what's there naturally!!!!
WTF!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI would just post the pic but I don't think I can do that in these comments.
Just don't get aggravated and decide to shave them off and draw them in! *shiver* Some of my clients that really are old (cuz you so aren't!) do that and it's creepy...
ReplyDeleteIt's all working out differently for me BP. I'm growing enough eyebrow hair that if I ever go bald I'm sure I could do a serious "comb-over" with just my eyebows...lovely image eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jerry. I could braid my eyebrows because the hair is so long.
ReplyDeleteI can't see your whole blog since my computers still not all here. I have to guess at what you are saying, lol.
Getting older does such wonderful things to a woman. Like give is that lone dark hair on our chinny chin chin.
ReplyDeletede: that wouldn't load for me....
ReplyDeleteshelly: Oh, don't worry! I'd never do that~I've seen people who have and it IS creepy!
jerry: thanks~I feel better now~ and that IS a lovely image! ;-)
signgurl: heh! for me~it's sparse and wiry eyebrows!
pud: Gee, thanks! Something else to look forward to! :(
I don't have any chiney chin chin hairs yet...
I think you just need to get your tatooed on like my neighbor. Priceless and VERY sexy!
ReplyDeleteMy eyebrows are just weird. They're not sparse or wiry. They're just ick. I hate 'em.
ReplyDeleteI had them professionally waxed once and had RED, SWOLLEN bumps on my face. I looked like someone had punched me in both eyes...only landing on my eyebrows. Hideous.
Shelly's comment made me guffaw. One of my grandmothers used to draw on her brows every day...with this GREASY brown pencil thing. I have no idea where one procures such make-up items.
It must be a genetic thing because many older women's brows look bushier and thicker - like a man's.
ReplyDeleteSo maybe your "problem" is the better one to have.
I didn't know it was age doing it, but my brows are hard to manage... and I agree with Shelly up there. Don't shave them off! UGH!
ReplyDeletesunny: ummmm....no thanks! TATOOED eyebrows?!?!?!? EWWWWWWW!!!
ReplyDeletebuddha girl: eyebrows are just really weird, aren't they? and I'm thinking there must be a special "old lady" store to buy such items as that which your lovely grandmother used. I don't ever want to know where it is! ;-)
phoenix: if that's the case, I'll stick with what I have!
sherry: I thought it was just me, and then read in a magazine that weird shit like this starts to happen as women age.... as if menopause wasn't enough! :(
who thought the tradeoff of getting wiser with age and the stuff that changes in our bodies was a good idea?
ReplyDeleteI wanna know and I want names!!!
errrrrrrrrrrrr
tc
Yeah, it sure isn't the same for men. I must be constantly vigilant against bushiness!
ReplyDeleteBP, remember that meme you tagged me with a few months ago? Well I sure do! You've been tagged on my site. :o)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter sweetie!
ReplyDeletetc
PISSY! I am already dealing with the PRE menopause acne bullshit and no THIS?! Fuck...
ReplyDeletetop cat: I KNOW!
ReplyDeleteand Happy Easter! :)
Mr. Fab: the bushiness IS a problem for guys, isn't it? Some older guys don't do a good job w/ it and that's just YUCK!
shelly: OK! I'm gonna go check it out!
nowhere girl: yep! It's a bitch~let me tell ya! Just one more thing to look forward to! ;-)
Happy Easter, Big P!
ReplyDeleteEyebrow gel should be mandatory.
ReplyDeletesigngurl: Thanks! Hope y'all had a good one!
ReplyDeletecynical girl: the gel is great as long as you go easy on it and avoid the dreaded "wet look"
ewwwwwww!!! ;-)
My mom's eyebrows are completely gone!?! She has to draw them on completely every morning. She's so damn good at it, they look very real-from about 30 feet away.
ReplyDeletenonny: Damn! Your poor mom! I hope mine don't go that route.... :(
ReplyDeleteYa know, they do false eyelashes...you think someone would come up with realistic looking false brows~not "Groucho" looking, but natural looking.....
OK. I'll admit it. I have only "half" eyebrows. I have to draw on the end of each one. No one has ever told me that they realize they're drawn on, but that could be that they don't want to say anything that might embarass me (or them).
ReplyDeleteI was at Sally's Beauty Supply the other day and at the checkout they had stencils for drawing on eyebrows. I don't need these, but I guess it's good to know they exist just in case the rest of my eyebrows fade away to nothing.
kc: Mine are that way too!!!! Skimpiest at the ends!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sad that we have this in common?!?!? ;-)
Good to know about Sally's~hope I never need 'em!
I'm sorry, I couldn't hear your post becuase I'm burning my ear hair out.
ReplyDeletelimpy: heh! maybe we could use all the excess hair guys have as they get older to make fake eyebrows???? ;-)
ReplyDeleteEWWWWWWWWWW....that would be so wrong!
every night before you go to bed take a little bit of olive oil and massage it into your brows and they will get fuller- wierd but true!
ReplyDeletet: For real?!?!?
ReplyDeleteWhat have I got to loose? I'm gonna try it!
I'm in my 40's and my eyebrows are very, very sparse. What little bit I have left is very, very blonde.
ReplyDeleteI have tried all kinds of products to fill them in. I've used powder, which I loved but they quit making it. I've used pencils, but they look like one of my children colored on me. I've used a gel but there is nothing for the gel to attach itself to, so I'm left with a glob of gel in the shape of an eyebrow. Or the general shape of an eyebrow, and I can never get them to match.
I am seriously considering getting the tattoos.
june: well that just sucks for you! :( Have you tried finding the powder on-line? I've never seen anyone with the tatoos~I'm gonna have to look THAT up on-line! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for sites like this for a long time. Thank you!
